Blackberry Blackout Continues Throughout U.S.
BlackBerry maker Research in Motion, RIM, has been experiencing service disruptions affecting BlackBerry users around the world. The outage was caused by an infrastructure failure that disrupted the company’s systems and led to a backlog of messages. Millions of BlackBerry users have been unable to browse the web, use BlackBerry Messenger or consistently access email from their devices.
According to a company statement, “It’s too soon to say that this issue is fully resolved. I’d like to give you an estimated time of full recovery around the world, but I cannot do this with certainty at this time.”
Many users took their grievances to Twitter, including Jersey Shore’s Snooki and CNN’s Piers Morgan who tweeted “”One positive of the #Blackberry crisis – my personal trainer can’t get hold of me.” This outage is just one of many issues plaguing Blackberry over the past year. RIM is faced by a declining position in the smartphone market. We expect these outages will drive some BlackBerry users to consider alternative smartphones, such as the new iPhone 4s.
Top Reasons To Upgrade to iOS5
Blackberry’s service outage could not have come at a worse time. Coinciding with a world-wide service outage, Apple released their most-advance mobile operating system ever called iOS 5.
While there are more than 200 new features on the new iOS 5, we wanted to highlight the top features. The new iCloud and iTunes Match feature will sync your music, contacts, calendar, photos etc. across all of your Apple devices. iMessage, which is equivalent to Blackberry messaging, will be part of all i-devices which means that iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch users can all communicate with each other via text message regardless of whether they have cellular service or not. Twitter will be fully-integrated into the new system, meaning you can save your Twitter login information in your iOS settings and Tweet from non-Twitter apps. This will likely provide a boost in popularity for the already-successful social media network. Apple has upgraded the Safari web browser app to include tabbed browsing and fast, smooth switching between windows. The camera tool has been upgraded to launch quicker, and you can take photos without unlocking the screen, simply by pushing the Volume Up button.
The list of new features offered on iOS 5 seems to be endless, but these are our favorites. What are your favorite new features in iOS 5? Let us know anytime at digitalmarketingnews.biz.
