The far-reaching influence of Steve Jobs was apparent at Sundays 2012 Grammy Awards. The late Apple co-founder received a Grammy Trustee Award for his “significant contribution…to the field of recording.” Those contributions include digital music innovations as the iPod and iTunes.
The award was accepted on Job’s behalf by Eddy Cue, Apple’s senior vice president of Internet Software and Services.
During his acceptance speech, Cue remembered Jobs’ response to industry skepticism of Apple’s decision to make a music player. “We love music, and it is always good to do something you love,” Steve said.
This clarity of passion allowed Steve Jobs to reinvent the tech industry, and hopefully Apple will continue to operate in this spirit.
