Tumblr posts have almost tripled the world population. On Wednesday the multimedia blog announced via Twitter that their site had reached 20 billion posts.
Last May, Tumblr hit 5 billion blog posts, doubling to 10 billion by that September. Now, six months later, they’ve doubled again.

According to Tumblr CEO David Karp, a single Tumblr post is re-blogged an average of nine times.

As we’ve seen with the success of Tumblr, Instagram, and Pinterest, multi-media has become the favorite way to engage and to be engaged on social networks. With its lean format, massive number of visitors, and widespread shares, Tumblr is the ideal platform for brands to begin visually engaging their consumers.
