Adrianna Huffington is not ready to give up her roots. The former journalist turned Internet tycoon is launching Huffington Magazine, a long form accompaniment to HuffingtonPost.com.
The new publication will debut exclusively on the iPad, with custom software to take advantage of the iPad 3’s retina display. Content will come largely from prominent journalists and reporters, and issues are relatively short.
The magazine will also feature a live commenting system, where readers can share and express their opinions on articles. Reader shares are the only way the magazine will be published outside of its mobile platform.
Huffington Magazine shows a continued faith in traditional journalism by AOL, Huffington Post’s parent company. Although much digital writing has been trending toward short form, publications featuring longer articles have found a home on mobile platforms.
