A new report by IDC, a global marketing intelligence firm, reveals that Apple has claimed 68 percent of the tablet market share during the second quarter of this year. Even though this year has seen an increase in tablet competition, many think that the flooding of the market is actually helping Apple. Faced with too many decisions, consumers are turning to the constant giant of the mobile industry.
Many of these tablet makers are putting up good numbers in the U.S., but Apple alone has global dominance of the market. Because of this developers are still focusing on creating apps primarily for the iPad and iPhone. If another company hopes to compete with Apple on a global scale, they will need to strike soon.
