Pasta sauce maker Ragu has created quite a buzz with a controversial addition to its “Long Day of Childhood” campaign. The spot features a kid walking in on his parents in the middle of a certain activity that scars the child. The situation is remedied with a big plate of pasta topped off with the brand’s sauce.

The commercial has set off One Million Moms, a group determined to clean up “the trash in today’s media.” They are petitioning the public to send an email to Ragu to take the commercial off the air.

Airing the commercial during the Olympics, with families watching, may not have been the most conservative marketing decision by Ragu. However, it did get the public talking about the brand. It remains to be seen whether it was worth stirring up trouble.
